I. Minimum requirements

II. Installation


Download the installation wizard from icieditions.org/bichromes/.

Open the installer, follow the instructions.


III. Use


Deactivate your screen saver for medium or long viewing.


Open the "Bichromes RVB" application and press the space bar on your keyboard.


1- Normal use: true random display mode.

Requires continuous Internet connection. You switch to full screen mode.


2- Simulation mode :

If you are not connected to the Internet or if the programme is unable to obtain online true random data, a discreet black frame appears arround the screen. This means that the programme is in simulation mode, i.e. that data is pseudo random (random simulation by your computer).


3- Return to the home screen : press again the space bar on your keyboard.


4- To exit the programme : press the "escape" key at any time.

Two forms in addition are available. Click on the icon you want.


V. Purchasing your registration number

Purchase your serial number (by email).

Open the application, move the mouse and click on "register", input the character sequence, and click on "OK". 

Take care to ensure that the "0s" in the character sequence are zeros.


VI. Presentation


To enjoy a beautiful abstract work in your own home at very little cost simply hang your 50-inch screen on a wall like a picture with a mini-computer on the floor ! 


VII. Software licence contract 


NOTICE TO USERS: PLEASE READ THIS CONTRACT CAREFULLY. BY COPYING IT, INSTALLING OR USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO ALL THE TERMS OF THIS CONTRACT. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS CONTRACT HAS THE SAME VALUE AS ANY OTHER WRITTEN CONTRACTS THAT YOU MAY HAVE NEGOTIATED AND SIGNED. THIS CONTRACT CAN BE ENFORCED AGAINST YOU AND ANY COMPANY THAT HAS OBTAINED THE SOFTWARE AND ON WHOSE BEHALF IT IS USED (FOR EXAMPLE, YOUR EMPLOYER, WHERE APPLICABLE). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS CONTRACT, DO NOT USE THE SOFTWARE. 


Ludovic Lignon and ICI own all intellectual property rights associated with the Software. The Software is supplied in the form of a granted licence. It is not sold. Ludovic Lignon and ICI authorise you to copy, download, install, use, or benefit in another manner from, the functions or intellectual property relative to the Software solely in accordance with the terms of this contract. 

Use of the Software may be governed by other terms stipulated in a separate licence contract. 


1. Definitions.


Ludovic Lignon is the author of the work "Bichromes RGB", created in 2003.


"ICI" refers to the ICI association based in Nice, France (department 06), which produces and distributes the Software.


The term "Computer" refers to an item of IT equipment that accepts data in a digital or similar format which processes it to obtain specific results from a sequence of instructions. 


"Software" refers to (a) the "Bichromes RVB" IT programme and all information provided with this contract, plus (b) all amended versions of the information and copies thereof, as well as updates and additions to said information which are supplied to you by the ICI association at any point in time, unless the latter is provided under the terms of another contract. 


"Use" refers to installing or running the "Bichromes RGB" programme on a computer.


2. Licensing.

If you have obtained the Software from ICI, provided that you comply with the terms of this contract, Ludovic Lignon grants you a non-exclusive licence to use the Software in accordance with the Documentation, for the purposes described herein, in accordance with the following terms and conditions. 


2.1 General use. You are authorised to install and use a copy of the Software on a compatible Computer. You are not authorised to install the Software on a network which enables it to be used by several computers simultaneously. The Computer on which the Software is installed must only control one (1) single screen, or one (1) single video projector.


You are not authorised to use the Software in the context of an exhibition, or in any venue, public or private, hosting an audience of spectators, whether entrance to said venue is paying or free of charge. Use of the Software is restricted to a family context in a private home. 


2.2 Use on a Portable or Private Computer. The main user of the Computer on which the Software is installed is authorised to install a second copy of the Software exclusively for his or her personal use on a Portable computer or on a Private computer installed in his or her personal place of residence, on condition that the Software installed on said Portable or private computer is not used on the Main computer at the same time. 


2.3 Back-up copies. You are authorised to make a reasonable number of back-up copies of the Software, on condition that you do not install or use your back-up copies for purposes other than archiving. 


3. Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights. The Software and all authorised copies that you make remain the intellectual property of Ludovic Lignon and ICI. 

The contract does not grant you any intellectual property rights to the Software. Ludovic Lignon and ICI reserve the right to all rights not expressly granted.


4. Restrictions.

4.1 Property acknowledgements. You are only authorised to make copies in accordance with the terms set forth in article 2. All authorised copies of the Software that you make must feature the same copyright acknowledgements and property acknowledgements other than those appearing in or on the Software. 


4.2 Modifications. You are not authorised to modify, adapt or translate the Software. You are not authorised to perform reverse engineering, decompiling, dismantling of the Software. 


4.3 Transfer. You are not permitted to lease or lease-back, sell, grant sub-licences, assign or transfer your rights to the Software, or authorise copies of the software on the computer of another user or company. However, you may transfer all of your rights to use the Software to another physical person or legal entity on condition that: (a) you also transfer to said physical person or legal entity (i) this contract, (ii) the serial number(s), the Software; (b) you do not keep any upgrades, updates or copies, including back-up copies or those stored on a computer, and (c) the assignee accepts the terms of this contract as well as all other terms governing your valid purchase of a Software licence. 


5. Updates.

If the Software is an upgrade or an update of an earlier version, you must hold a valid licence for said earlier version in order to be able to use said upgrade or update. On installing such an upgrade or update, you can continue to use an earlier version in accordance with its end user licence contract solely on condition that (a) the upgrade or update and all earlier versions are installed on the same machine, (b) earlier versions or copies of the latter are not transferred to another party or machine unless all copies of the update or the upgrade are also transferred to such a party or such a machine. No other use of an earlier version is authorised once an upgrade or update is installed. Upgrades or updates that Ludovic Lignon or ICI grant you in licence form may be governed by additional or different terms. 


6. No guarantee.

Neither Ludovic Lignon nor ICI guarantee the physical person or legal entity that purchased a Software licence for the purposes of using it in accordance with this contract that the Software shall work in accordance with the Documentation.  The Software is supplied "as is" with all potential defects.


7. Liability limitation. Under no circumstances may Ludovic Lignon or ICI be held liable for any loss, damage, claims or any costs whatsoever. The total liability of Ludovic Lignon and ICI is limited to the amount paid for the software, where applicable. 


8. Law of contract. This contract is governed and construed in accordance with relevant laws in France and in the European Union. Nice court (Alpes Maritimes) is competent to settle all disputes relative to this contract.
